Luis Bocanegra - Drag, Solo, and Road Racing

I was born in one of the most "car crazy" islands in the world and, certainly, the most "car crazy" island in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico. I learned basic auto mechanics at the age of 10 helping my dad in the garage. At the age of 12 I installed the first car stereo and by the age of 16 he was already racing at the drag strip. When I was 20, I went to the track to test and tune my best friend’s car, a 1979 Mitsubishi Celeste with a 2.0L 4G63 Turbocharged engine from a 1982 Mitsubishi Starion. That day, a renowned name in Puerto Rico racing, was at the track trying out new drivers. After seeing me testing my friend’s car, he decided to take me under his wing and teach me a few tricks. Since then, my hobby and passion have been cars and how I can make them look great and be faster. Driving at the track calms me down, even though my adrenaline is way up. Jose Gutierrez - Road Racing

As far as I could look back I have found an attraction to Auto Industry, especially the speed part of it. I got really into racing back in my High School years where I would look for anything and everything about how to make a car fast. After graduating from high school I went on to learn the art into collision repair and refinishing. By the age of 18, I had done my first complete frame off and on restoration to my first car.

Now I am in the process of conquering the world of speed, by introducing as what I like to call it my "AG3NT". It will get a major overhaulin' as I further my career in road racing.

I chose Road Race because I've always wanted to drive around corners instead of a straight line. Check out the AG3NT as it takes on the Tracks around Arizona soon this Racing season. Click here to visit my ride page.
